Should I receive money from ford for my vehicle randomly catching on fire?

I had a 2009 ford ranger that we didn't have insurance for yet. About 80000 miles on it and the front end just catches on fire sitting in my driveway. Totaled the vehicle. Not having any insurance I'm screwed. Do I have a case ford should pay for it?

If you can prove that Ford were negligent then you may have a case, otherwise you have no chance

You need to prove the fire was a defect in the design and not caused by poor maintenance. At 80000 miles this may be hard.

Unless YOU hire an investigator and they can prove that this was fords fault than SURE go ahead but odds are they will link it back to the owners being YOU for not maintaining the vehicle or if they find that you parked a hot car over something or oil was leaking either way you will sepnd more to investigate it than the truck is worth. So right now you have a new piece of burnt yard art.

So many fluids or wires could cause this. Seems like there had to be an accellerant. The fire marshall can look into it to see that.
Reporting it to NHTSA is in order. A lab like UL could have the testing knowledge. Don't touch it. Try your property insurance since it was parked on your property. Then go off what they say if its helpful. Getting it towed to a yard where it can sit locked up is good for protecting the evidence. Ask a insurance adjuster where.

It's probably not worth your money. Especially considering you don't have insurance on it.
