Not sure which truck to get?

I have to get a truck this winter but at the same time hoping I can save on gas a little. So i'm looking at a 96 ford ranger, 90 f 150, and an 01 ram 1500. I'm prioritizing the ranger because according to the internet it gets 20-26 mpg. Where as i know the ram and f150 would get terrible gas mileage. Do rangers actually get significantly better mileage or is it negligible? And which truck would you pick for reliability?

The Ranger is a solid truck, better that the others, but they are often run into the ground and dumped. Make sure it has been cared for and isn't beat up, and it will likely be a good choice.

Rangers are pretty good trucks. Old SR5 Tundras are very reliable too.

If the Ford is a four cylinder engine it will get good gas mileage but the towing, hauling and off road capability of the truck will be severely diminished. Especially if it's an automatic.

Buy a truck for what you need a truck for and live with gas mileage you get. Dodge will be the worst.

I'd look at a Toyota V6 Tacoma.

Truck = Toyota

You are looking at old trucks. Do not worry about the mileage. Worry about the CONDITION of the vehicles.
