I have a 96 Ford Ranger that I recently bought. Need
After freaking out that the 4 cylinder had 8 plugs and wires, I did a tune up replacing replacing plugs and wires and air filter.
What the issue is, is that when I rev the engine in first is sputters then catches and revs. It did this before the tune up. Any Ideas what could be wrong?
Thanks.
Added (1). revs in neutral and first it sputters then catches and goes
Lots but it needs some checking and testing to find the fault not guessing and having more expensive parts thrown at it. I'll go for fuel related though.
SURPRISE! Your truck came with TWO spark plugs per cylinder! That's the way it was made. Did you replace the coils?
Possible vacuum leak or a sensor. As Timbo said, you can pi$$ money away by guessing.
You probably have no clue what you're doing and how are we to know if you changed all 8 spark plugs and their wires? Is the cam timing off? How many miles on the motor? Test for vacuum leaks yet?
I would get a can of sea foam and pour in the gas, sounds like the system needs to be cleaned.
Their really is stuff called sea foam, look for it in a auto parts. Its the BEST stuff on the market.
Hi so a 21 years old truck well- passed scraping well what else do you expect a miracle.
- I just bought a 1990 Ford Ranger and it is doing something weird? As stated in the title I bought a 1990 Ford Ranger today and it had recently gotten some parts replaced including: Fly Wheel, Starter, tires and some others. But the problem is, when I'm stop and accelerate the whole truck shakes and jiggles and I'm not exactly sure what it is? Any comments help. It's a Ford Ranger 1990 Automatic 4wd. Also, I'm not sure if this is normal on these old of cars but when on the freeway going about 65 that's red lining it.
- I have a 2002 Ford Mustang 3.8 v6 and just recently I noticed my car was idling very rough Even more when in gear though. I didn't think anything of it until i drove it and the SES light started blinking so I felt that was odd. My car idles so hard I think it's going to stall but it never does. It doesn't have much power expessially when going up hills. I looked it over and found a air hose unplugged so I plugged it back in but it still does it. Is there anything I can do?
- Have a 2009 Ford Mustang, kept blowing fuse #47, recently had clutch changed out prior to this? Found out a wire harness to 02 sensor was pinched between transmission and engine (easy to overlook harness should run above transmission). After removing harness and fixing. Had to run a push button for starter though. Anyone have this issue and get it solved (starter wise)?
- 2008 Ford Mustang - The passenger side under the dashboard recently leaked I took it to a Firestone recently and they said I had to take it to the dealer or to Ford directly. Called Ford and they said it would be $130 just to even look at it. The dealership I bought the car from is closed for good now. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to fix this yourself rather than having it fixed? The passenger side leaks everytime it rains but it rained heavy the other day and now the carpet is flooded.
