How to supercharge a 1992 ford ranger?

Added (1). I'm looking to supercharge my 1992 ford ranger. Its a 4 speed + overdrive + reverse. It gets up to about 70 pretty easy, but sluggish going past that. Any websites linking to supercharged engines for my truck would be nice. Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated. Round about price would be nice too.

Added (2). Sorry, its a 1994 ford ranger. NOT 1992

Here's the steps -
1( have a new engine installed
2( have a new transmission installed
3( have new suspension installed
4( have a shop attach the supercharger
5( replace the tires & rims

total = maybe $ 20000

what you want is just a dream… There's NO way the current vehicle could handle the extra HP

Install a supercharger and a new computer. Upgrade the suspension, exhaust and tires. Prepare to get a new engine in 100 miles.

Go find a "super coupe" of the period with a manual transmission and swap out the parts. Some of the T-birds had a super charged V6.
Then there's the Merkur swap, for which you find a donor merkur XR4Ti donor. This is a turbo charged 2.3.
My 1993 ranger (stock) has no problem running up to 85 MPH. I know it gets a bit sluggish after 70, but it can still run 85.
The swap to a 5.0 would be easier and maybe cheaper as well as more reliable.

Why?

Use a compression tester to see what type of compressions the cylinders have still, whatever compression you find out use Google to see what type of turbo is best to use for the compression you have and don't supercharge it, you'd have to fabricate everything you need for a supercharger while fabricating a turbo is probably easier, unless there's supercharger kits available for your car,

Turbo would probably cost about 300-500 if your a good bargain hunter

No idea

  • Will any supercharge kit that fits small bolck engine fit a 302 v8 small block engine? Its a 1967 ford f100 project truck 302 small block v8 engine link to the supercharger kit http://m.summitracing.com/parts/vor-4gp218-050l?seid=srese1
  • My 1992 ford ranger does not read fuel correctly I filled it up and drove of when the gage read full, 10min later it reads empty, same thing happens when there's little to no gas in it. Is it a bad sending unit, fuse, or gage?
  • Is a 1989 to 1992 Ford Ranger very hard to find? Usually I'm only seeing a 1993 to present Ford Ranger on my streets of town. The old Ford Ranger from 1983 to 1992 (I call 1983 to 1992 Ford Rangers "1980s Ford Ranger Truck") is the ranger I rarely see in my town. I know a lot of those 1980s vehicles are very hard to find but is the 1983 to 1992 Ford Ranger very rare and hard to find? Would it be a good truck to buy if I did find one? Is there not much many of them left in the United States?
  • Is a 1989 to 1992 Ford Ranger rare to find and see? I heard that many of those old trucks and cars from the 1980s/early 90s are very rare to find and are generally not seen on the roads anymore. Is a 1989 to 1992 Ford Ranger hard to find?
