Should my 2010 Ford Ranger cabin beep whenever I open the door?
I feel like the cabin dinging is supposed to be a reminder that you have left the headlights on, the key in the ignition, or the in cabin lights on, but I have done none of these things. Yet the truck cabin beeps whenever the door is open. I fear the battery will drain, but if someone can co firm this is just a "door ajar" beeping I would be most grateful.
You may have a short,
Or a broken switch, sensor.
You need an Automotive Electrical Specialist to check it over.
Maybe someone jimmied your ignition while trying to steal it.
Check the door switches in the doorjambs.
A door ajar will cause a dash light to illuminate on most vehicles (unless that light is burned out). Looks like you might have to do some off-the-wall troubleshooting.
Check for a blown fuse. The beep may be caused by a faulty safety system and the beep my be coming from a separate circuit to alert you to the problem. Does your air bag light flash about 5 seconds, then go out and stay out (system okay). If not, check that system (one poster linked his problem to the air bag system).

- Interior lights won't come on when the door is open on my 2003 Ford Windstar? I just bought a 2003 Ford Windstar, and the interior lights don't turn on when a door is opened. If we turn the switch all the way up, all the lights come on, but don't ever turn off. It's not associated with a door being open. Anyone aware of how to fix this?
