2.9l Ranger Engine Problem?
I own a 1987 Ford Ranger 2.9l. Last winter The water in it froze and blew 2 freeze plugs out and the starter went out. I knocked 2 freeze plugs back in and fixed the starter and it fired back up. I drove it to the front yard to put water in it and as it was filling up i look and out of the oil dipstick water was pouring out… Would this be the head or block? Or?
I'd say you have MANY engine problems, not just 'problem' (singular). I'd say the block and that's just the beginning of your rabbit-hole of issues. Take that vehicle into a deep-engine mechanic before it's shot-dead. In fact, it may already be there.
- Car acceleration problem and idle problem. The car is a 2003 Ford Taurus? . When the car is running and in parked its making a loud consisted rev noise. However the rpm needle thingy is not moving. when i'm in drive the car acclerates on its own with the speed ever increasing. i did some googling and learned that it can be the TPS sensor or the idle air intake valve, among a million other possiblities.
- Will a 1993 3.0 Ford Ranger engine fit and work with my 1995 Ford ranger that has a bad motor? My 1995 ford ranger 3.0 5 speed ran hot and cracked the heads and spun a bearing. Will a 3.0 out of a 1993 Ford Ranger fit and work? My concerns are the 1993 has a distributor and my 1995 does not. Are the water pumps and accessories the same?

After a few minutes the "door ajar' alarm starts going off but the door ajar light on the board doesn't light up. It does work because if I open the door, it lights up. I try closing the door again and make sure cap on gas tank is closed but door ajar alarm still goes off. It runs for a few mminutes while I'm driving. What's the problem here?
- My 2000 Ford Ranger 6 Cyl 3.0 L has been overheating. Pretty sure its a radiator problem but odd symptoms? Truck exhaust will puff moderate amount of white smoke (every now n again) on cold startup but will subside after engine warming up.Truck "Was" overheating until i put more coolant in but realised cap was steaming along with coolant reservoir (reservoir was also bubbling). So i bought a new radiator cap. I got a safety cap and after installing I drove a little and engine temp goes to red really fast. What could it be? Thermostat? Water pump? Blown head gasket?
