1990 ford ranger- fuel pump issues?
I've put 3 fuel pumps in so far. 1 had a broken wire at the connection. The other 2 just stopped working after about a week. Anyone else have this experience? How did you solve it?

Hm
Are you buying rebuilt fuel pumps?
Find one rebuilt by a different vendor. (If you can't buy "new".)
Has the fuel filter been changed? Has anyone checked to see if there was any sediment/debris in the tank? I've believe a stuck closed fuel pressure regulator can cook a pump but i'm not totally sure on that. This video may be of interest to you.
Replace the fuel filter. Get a fuel pressure gauge and check fuel pressure while cranking (key on Start). No pressure, get a test light and check for power and ground at the fuel pump connector while cranking (key on Start) Power and ground is good, the fuel pump is bad. No power, check for a bad fuse, bad wires, relay or ignition switch (and a inertial switch if there's one). No ground, check for bad wire or bad ground connection.
If you have to replace the pump, do not go the cheap route. Buy a factory or OEM fuel pump.
- Location of 1998 Ford Taurus fuel pump. Does it have a fuel cut-off switch? Car shut down suddenyl without warning. New battery and cranks but will not start. Suspect bad fuel filter, 130K miles and fuel filter has never been replaced.
- My 1999 ford ranger has 20 lbs of pressure on the fuel line. Do i need a fuel pump? After I tested the pressure and shut the motor off the pressure went down to 0 quick. When I just turn the key I don't get any pressure
- 2003 Ford Ranger Won't Start after Fuel Pump install? About 2 weeks ago, I replaced the fuel filter and all 6 spark plugs to do some regular maintenance and upkeep. 3 days ago, hard to start. Had to turn key a couple times to prime- then would fire right up. Replaced fuel pump yesterday, now I have no start at all. It just cranks, and barely starts to turn over, only to bog out. When it starts to bog out, i tap the gas to try and get my RPMS up, but I have no throttle response at all.
- Should my fuel pump run all the time on my 1990 ford f150 5.0? My fuel pump runs all the time when running I don't think it should be when I'm at about 45 mph it's hard to get up to speed and it sputters like it's getting to much gas or not enough I've tried everything could someone please help me why does it sputter like it's running out of gas but is not is this bc the fuel pump shouldn't run all the time continuously
