Power steering leak on my 05 ford transit?
The leak seems to be coming from a rubber hose that connects to the power steering return pipe and has had the connection tightened already but is still leaking. Will I need to buy a new return pipe or is it something easier to fix?
Undo the hose pipe and try sum plumbers tape on the thread.
Hard to say when WE can't see a thing! If its the return hose, there's little pressure behind it. (The other lines are under high pressure) Look closer. Is it the actual threaded fitting or is it the crimp on the hose? Those pre-made lines are fairly cheap. Might as well replace.
- 2001 Ford Taurus power steering fluid leak? My husband bought a new power steering pump and installed it last week, but when he added the power steering fluid it leaked out almost immediately. Any idea of what would cause this?
- 1995 Ford Taurus with a steering issue. When I turn the steering wheel to a certain spot left or right it will start moving back and forth? According to previous owner the rack and pinion was previously replaced. Steering wheel Is off a little to the right. Any ideas?
- Power steering leak? I've got a power steering leak in my '04 ford, am willing to pay $250 for repairs, would a power steering leak cost me $250 or more?
- My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
