What would cause an ignition coil to fail repeatedly on a 1997 Ford Thunderbird?

The car has 65,000 miles on it and has received regular tune ups and oil changes but over the past year or so it leaves me stranded every 3 months or so leaving me to have it towed to the nearest mechanic--including the Ford Dealer once. Every time I'm told it was the ignition coil and it is replaced and the car runs fine for several weeks until the next incident.

Added (1). 1986 2.3 turbo ford thunderbird engine to replace a 1984 2.3 turbo thunderbird engine. These cars are called turbo coupes. The 1986 engine has 35# injectors and the 1984 engine has 30# injectors. Will 1984 computer run the larger injectors or do I have to install the computer out of a 1986 turbo coupe to run them? Or just swap injectors?

What special needs done to put a 1986 2.3 turbo engine in a 1984?

What special needs done to put a 1986 2.3 turbo engine in a 1984?

Added (1). The 1984 ford thunderbird has a original 2.3 turbo engine in it. Engine needs replaced. I found a used 1986 2.3 turbo engine out of a 1986 thunderbird. The only difference in the engines is injector size. I didn't know if the injectors would have to be swapped and or get a 1986 computer module to make it run correctly or will the 1984 computer module work ok with the bigger injectors. 1984 has 30# injectors. 1986 has 35# injectors.
