ON my 94 Aspire (ford) the rack &pinion dosen't come out from the car abook said to take off the arm from eit?
I have a ford aspire 1994 the rack and pinion leaks bad so I disabled it but it doesn't come out through the wheel well.
Iread somthing about remove ing a arm from it to come out under the car. How do I remove A arm from the unit?
Get the real answers by going to the public library. There's an automotive database you can search for free. I have seen many steering gear replacements. Knowing how to remove the inner ends may be helpful. They have to come off during a reseal.
I just have never seen an asspile, i mean, aspire with a leaky rack yet. Are you sure thats the cause of the leak?
Tell you what i do, i remove the rear kframe bolts letting the engine and suspension drop some, then remove the bolt from the steering intermediate shaft. This allows you to lower the k frame even more. Then you have tons of room lol. Just watch and make sure your not stretching hoses or breaking plastic. I've found this to be the easiest way to remove a rack. Most can pop right down and backwards out the bottom of the car
