No. Putting the key into the ignition switch should shut the alarm off.

No. The immobiliser works by sensing the RFID chip inside the key, and that does not use battery power.

All you will probably need to do is to re-synchronise the key fob to the central locking system, and your car user manual will tell you how to do that. Most key fobs allow the owner a short period of a few minutes or so to change batteries without losing their synchronisation, and the manufacturers normally recommend that the battery is routinely replaced *before* it dies on either a six monthly or annual basis, although I had one car where the recommendation was to change the battery every six years although it was also a very expensive battery only available from the main dealer.

I replaced the battery and got a couple miles before the ABS light comes on and about a mile after that light comes on it shuts everything down and i'm lucky to get to the side. I've tried leavig the key in the On mode, locking it and unlocking it, and unplugging the battery. If i tale the battery out and fully charge it then it lets me start it but i can only go so far. What is wrong?
