Will the crown Vic motor fit in my mustang?
I have a 2004 Ford Mustang gt. It has the 4.6 sohc and the vin digit is X. The motor I have is a 4.6 out of a 2004 ford crown Vic police interceptor. But the vin digit is a w. Will this work with my car? I can't get a straight answer and salvage yards don't know the answer
The american way is to mess about with putting other engines in car bodies. This is not really an option any longer, as American manufacturers have now included engine management systems and body module computers with in there cars.
Just like the european manufactures. You can't simply any longer put an engine from one make inside another makers body shell.
Likewise even putting a larger engine from one model into another, as the two computers do not talk to each other as they should.
There's no dealing with this issue despite what some might say.
Sad to say the days of mix and match has now long gone. This is longer an option so the sooner the younger generation grasp this the better.
- Opinions about a 2007 Ford Crown Vic? Thinking about buying this 2006 crown vic. I heard the air ride suspension is a headache to fix. This seems like a good tough car, they use them for Taxi's don't they?
- Is Mercury Grand Marquis/Ford Crown Vic a good 1st car? Looking for a first car and I'm really interested in a Grand Marquis/Ford Crown Vic and want to know opinions on the car as a 1st car and in general. They seem to be well maintained and used lightly by a generally older crowd. Opinions?
- Can I use 50/50 Prestone GREEN coolant in a 2008 ford crown vic Police interceptor? The owner's manual recommends using Motorcraft premium Gold Engine coolant with bittering agent (YELLOW COLORED) but is it ok to just use the green stuff?
