Why does not many people like mustangs?

I live in the uk ad have recently just picked up my new ford mustang 2017… It gets a lot of attention and looks and compliments but if people like them so much why don't they buy one? I mean its a fair bit pricy but no where near as other type of cars… Is there some problem with the mustang people don't like? I'm confused because i love it!

you rarely see them here in the uk but they do sell them

Like you said, it's pricey. And some people just can't afford them. Other people just need more room. I like them though.

It's fine as long as it's the 5.0 liter.

If it's the V6, you deserve to be publicly beaten and ridiculed.

I believe this is the first year they made RH drive models.

They are great cars. But with only two doors, two full seats and two one-half seats many are not interested. I owned a Mustang once. It was my all time favorite car.

Ford JUST started making the Mustang in the wrong-side drive for Europe like late last year…

Is this question written in proper English?

I like mustangs but they're not for me.

They are rear wheel drive, Which is fine if you live in California or Arizona. I live in a place that gets a lot of mountain snow and rain in the lowlands so the only time I could drive a mustang without issues is during the summer.

Many people admire some cars but they may not have ideal use for their needs. E.g. Family. Need loading space. Live in area where vandalism would occur etc.
many can afford say an old ferrari and may say admire etc but to own one! Running costs.insurance etc and image to family etc all play a part.
however if we enjoy our purchase then well and good. There are a lot of anti Ford folk in USA for whatever reason so do bear any criticism with a pinch of salt.

Most people do not have the money to be able to afford to buy a car just because they like it.
This is particularly true of an expensive car, with no historical place in the market, from a non-Premium brand, as this means the resale value it a bit of an unknown.

Also, sports cars of all types, except for the very specialist track-day cars, are going out of fashion. Previously sporty people drove sports cars, so other people who wanted to look sporty also drove them. Now sporty people do sports that require equipment (bikes, skis, kayaks, climbing ropes…) or carry out their sports in the countryside, so they feel they need a crossover This means people who want do look sporty also buy crossovers, and those who just want their car to keep its value also end up with a crossover.

Three door versions of mainstream cars are disappearing - whereas the 3dr previously made you look sporty and unburdened with kids, so was trendy for singletons, now they appear selfish (friends have to struggle to get to the back). Previously the 3-door was also cheaper to buy, but with more people buying on PCP, the higher resale value of the 5-door means the monthly cost is the same.

You also have to bear in mind the UK attitude to car tax. People don't like giving money to the government (even though they expect the government to be able to fund roads and the NHS and policing…), so they will happily buy a car that costs £1000 more in order to save £90 on road tax (forgetting that the government is getting £166.67 of that £1,000 in VAT). A Mustang sits in a high tax bracket.

We also have a car market where about 50% of the new cars are bought by companies rather than private buyers. Sometimes the company chooses the car, or at least chooses the brand of car, sometimes they apply rules (must be diesel, or must be hybrid, or must have rear doors and enough room to carry customers comfortably in the rear). Whatever the choices the user is given, they are taxed according to the the car's list price and CO2 emissions, and therefore the Mustang's high price and high emissions mean it isn't a "clever" choice, however much someone may want one.

Of course you may be the winner. Not only do you get a good car for relatively little outlay, its rarity may keep its resale value high - but it may not.

  • Why so many people believe Christine Ford's story when nobody she named knows what she is talking about and there are? So many details missing AND the timing is very suspicious? Is it that people "believe" her mostly because they WANT to believe her as a way to get back at Trump and stop his agenda?
  • Why don't car companies remake some of their classic car models if people like them so much? Of course safety is in mind because everyone would freak out if they didn't have a seat belt and air bags in every inch of the car, but why can't some of the companies just remake their best selling car models? Dodge could remake their 1948 Sedan and Ford could remake their 1949 Custom. I could list more but I can't think of any more classics.
  • Why are do many people buying cars? I just went to a local Ford dealership to get my key fixed and it was busy, and most people there were buying or leasing a new car. I'm pretty sure those people don't have the money to make that kind of investment so why are they causing themselves more debt that people like me have to take care of in the end?
  • Why do people laugh at V6 Mustangs? I'm talking about the older models 94-04 Why do people make fun of them? In 99 they made 193 hp which FOR ITS TIME was very good for a v6 while 260 at the time for the v8 was almost unheard of unless you had a super car/corvette/lambo etc So why do ppl make fun of the v6? Yes dude its slow but for it's time it was above average for a v6. The average v6 car now is 250-300 but… ITS 2014 so obviously 10 years technology would have improved
