Where is my 1998 Ford Mustang Starter / solenoid?
1998 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe 3.8 Liter OHV 12-Valve V6 Engine
I have been googling for several hours and i can't find anything that gives me a decent idea of where to find the starter/solenoid Can someone point out on this picture about where it would be
Follow the positive battery cable. Its ends at the starter.
Oreilly's website says the solenoid is mounted directly on the starter for this engine.
You can't see it from the top.
Raise the front of the car, and be sure to support it with jackstands before you crawl underneath. The starter and solenoid will be next to the oil pan toward the back of the engine. You'll see the end of the positive cable attached to it. Be sure to disconnect the negative cable from the battery before you jack up the car, so there will be no sparks when you are working on the starter.
Seriously? Several hours with no results? Ok then. http://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l-1996-2004-modular-mustang/300570-starter-or-starter-solenoid-location.html You know how I got that link? I googled your own question. Pretty tricky huh?

- Can a car have a starter relay and starter solenoid? I have a 1972 Ford thunderbird and I feel like it may have a starter relay as well as a starter solenoid. On the starter motor there's a starter solenoid. I know that for sure. On the fender of the car appears to have something that resembles a starter relay. I've heard some people tell me that they can't have both but is it possible that it could be that?
