What to look for when buying a used 2004 Ford Mustang?
I'm going to look at a 2004 Ford Mustang this week. It has 101,000 miles on it. If I but it it will be my first car, so I want to make sure that it is in great shape and won't break down in me. Check the link and tell me if it is a good deal. What do I look for when inspecting it? Thanks!

Don't buy it unless it's got the 4.6. The 3.8 they put in those years is a gutlessley underpowered engine with reliability issues. Four cylinder cars will out run you, and burn less gas doing it. The your head gasket will blow out.
The 4.0 and 3.7L V6's put in later years of Mustangs are much better engine, and the 4.6L V8s are awesome when it comes to reliability. The 2004 & earlier V6's, however, are best avoided, IMO.
Look for body damage, or engine damage. If you can drive it make sure the transmission works and the engine works.

- For a restoration, what major parts of a car do I need to look into pricing and buying? I have a Ford 1967 Fastback Mustang with literally nothing "mechanical". I'm making a list/guideline of what I need to complete the restoration, What I need to know is what major parts of the car I need to buy.
- Buying a used mustang with 125k miles? I'm looking to buy a used mustang. It is a 2006 Ford mustang gt with 125k miles for $6,000. It is all stock and appears to be in good condition. If well maintained is this alot of miles for a 4.6L modular v8? What should I look out for? Is this a good deal?
