What is the reasonable life expectancy of my Ford Mustang?

I have a 2006 ford mustang gt convertible. I love it and it is in wonderful condition. I'm at 126k miles and I'm thinking about dropping in a factory style nav system. This will cost me 1000k. This will give me all the modern stuff, back up camera, bluetooth, ect.

Should I dump this kind of money in this car? I work in the oil field so buying a car at this moment is out of the question. You think I could take the mileage to 300k?

Yeah, I don't how you can drive a mustang with no back up camera!

$1,000,000 ("1000k") is a little steep for a nav system, even if it's OEM.

It all depends how you drive it to be honest if your flooring all the time i would say 150-200k also put premium oils in it 91 or 93 octane gas and just take care of it and you can be on the gas sometimes just not all the time if you do these things i can safely say yes it will last to 300k miles and maybe even more and yeah backup camera would be great.

Well the average car in America last about 11.5 years, so use that as a guide but only a very small number of cars ever reach 300,000 miles so don't plan on that. Not many cars even reach 200,000 in the real world.

In my whole life the longest I ever had a car was an 89 Acura Integra which I drove to over 260,000 before I just didn't trust the car. I indeed think it is foolish to dump an extra $1,000 in to a car which is already 10 years old, the odds are against you.
