Performance Camshafts safe to drive without a tune?
I just installed some Ford hot rod camshafts in my 2010 mustang GT and also have shorty headers, a cold air intake, cat back exhaust, and 24 lb ford racing injectors and was wondering if it is safe to drive for 2 weeks without a tune, my dyno appointment isn't until the 22nd
It might not run at all except in limp home mode. My 2006 GT wouldn't run til the computer was flashed with a tuner. The computer on mine couldn't compensate for the C&L intakes much higher airflow.
I wouldn't do it. When I had the supercharger installed on my GT. The shop that did the install didn't even start the engine until they uploaded a baseline blower tune to the ECU. Once that was done they started it and made sure everything was copasetic and began dialing it in.
I'm not sure why you replaced the injectors, the stock ones were also 24 lb/hr injectors, the 2010 GT also had the Bullitt CAI, there's not much on the aftermarket that can do better.

- Why does my car rev high all the time and drive without me touching the gas? It revs at stop lights and when sitting idle at drive throughs, and when I'm driving highway speed. It'll rev up to almost 3000 rpms especially in idle. It is a ford Taurus 2005 with 99,700 mi on it.
- Front Bumper is gone on the used car I just bought. How much to fix it? Is it safe to drive? I just bought a used car for $1300 the only issues with it our the rear suspension needs to be fixed and the front fender is missing completely. There's no metal at all and no cover so the bottom half of the radiator is exposed. Its an 02 ford Taurus and I'm wondering how much a complete new bumper is going to cost like a ball park estimate? And is it safe to drive it without the front bumper temporarily?
- Is it safe to drive a ford ranger on the freeway for long trips? Can a ford ranger safely sustain speeds of 85-90 mph without any problems at all? I'm looking for a pickup truck that can haul stuff and is good for driving off roaming occasionally but I also what a pickup that has good performance as well. My question is can a 2007 ford ranger XLT 4.0 v6 5 speed manual sustain speeds of 85-90 mph or is that pushing the limits of this truck?
- 2008 ford ranger 2.3 how do I set timing on the camshafts? I got the engine to tdc by using the alignmental kit with the tdc peg. I just don't know what way the first cam lobe is suppose to face up or down?
