I have a 2002 Ford Mustang 3.8 v6 and just recently I noticed my car was idling very rough
Even more when in gear though. I didn't think anything of it until i drove it and the SES light started blinking so I felt that was odd. My car idles so hard I think it's going to stall but it never does. It doesn't have much power expessially when going up hills. I looked it over and found a air hose unplugged so I plugged it back in but it still does it. Is there anything I can do?
Take it to a shop. Its an old Ford, thats your first problem.
It's probably not firing on all cylinders. I'd recommend cleaning or replacing the spark plugs and then checking each distributor lead for a strong spark at each spark plug, but my guess is that you don't have the knowledge or skills to do these things.
Hi so what do you expect from a 15 years old car might be the issue.
Can be anything from bad plug/lead loose connection etc to low fuel pressure /air leaks and so on. A simple skilled mechanic check over at a garage is simplest way to proceed. Get a price to check car over and a quote for any repairs needed. With luck a simple issue. Do not be tempted to carry on driving with this issues as any damage can be made far worse!
- Why did Trump say of Dr. Ford: I thought her testimony was very compelling, looks like a very fine woman and was a very credible witness? I thought her testimony was very compelling, and she looks like a very fine woman to me. A very fine woman. It was incredible. It was an incredible moment, I think, in the history of our country. But certainly she was a very credible witness. She was very good in many respects. https://www.c-span.org/video/?452222-1/president-trump-reacts-calls-delaying-vote-kavanaugh-nomination
- I have a Ford Ranger 4.0 and the AC doesn't blow very cool air. I want to add refrigerant for very 1st time, never have added to any vehicle? I'm using a gauge to test the pressure. With AC on max the needle moves between 25 and 45, the blue normal range. The compressor cuts on at 45 and off at 25. This happens continuously. The outside temp is 80 degrees. Not exactly understanding what I was doing, I added a little refrigerant and now the needle goes to 47 in the yellow range. Will this do any harm? Can I remove the excess refrigerant? If so, how? Is the system fully charged? If so, why isn't the air cooler?
- Ford Ranger 4.0, 172,000 miles rough idle when starting after sitting overnight or after 2-3 hours. Starts 1st crank, idles rough 1 minute? Or so and then smooths out and runs fine. New heads and gaskets. Cleaned MAF sensor, throttle body and air intake sensor, new IAC valve, new air and fuel filters, new PCV valve. No smoke coming from exhaust and No check engine light. Any ideas what's causing this rough idle?
- 2006 Ford Ranger, lack of power and rough idling, what could be the problem? I have a 2006 Ford Ranger manual 4 x 4 sport, with 160,000 km (100,000 miles) that I bought back in August. It ran well until today. On my way to work, I drove a few blocks when I noticed when I accelerated there was little power, and it was idling rough. I drove it back home and noticed there was this black soot coming out of the exhaust. I can't have it seen until the 2nd, so I'm just looking for any insight on what the problem can be.
