How to fix memory on pioneer deh-x16ub?
I just installed my new pioneer radio. Everything works fine but it doesn't remember anything. Every time I shut off the car then turn it back on it is like I just installed it. The time will need reset and it doesn't remember any audio changes I have made such as bass. I have a 1998 ford mustang convertible. If anyone can help me figure out why this is happening that would be great.
It's not installed correctly. The red wire in the Pioneer plug needs to be connected to a key-switched power source; the yellow wire needs a connection that keeps voltage regardless of the key position. Either they're reversed, or both are connected to a key-switched power source.
If they were reversed the car wouldn't start. The universal aftermarket deck is yellow (constant) red (ignition). If both of those are hooked up correctly according to your factory stereo harness color code, and you still have problems check your fuse. There should be one speciffically for radio that is for constant only. Yours may either be blown or missing. Hope this helps.
