How much should it cost to paint my Ford Mustang?
I have a 2006 Ford Mustang V8 convertible. I want to paint it obsidian black? Just an estimate. Don't want to be taken to the cleaners

Cleaners do not paint cars and no amount given here will matter one iota to any auto body shop. Paint requires repair and preparation of the body and takes into consideration the type of you paint desire, the levels of protection as to primer and a few separate factors related to the specific model as to things to remove as part of the preparation. Only an inspection by an expert and with a discussion as to the level of qualify of the paint job you want or can afford, then, and only then, you shall be informed. I wonder why people are afraid to ask estimates. They are free. It is necessary to search and locate several auto body shops as the price can vary significantly. It depends on the business, the overhead, their perception of what they do, etc. Go and get estimates. As to grammar, how come you failed to place a punctuation mark on the last sentence? I would guess at least $3500… Probably more if you are changing the color and want it done right: that would include taking out the interior, removing a lot of under-hood components, hood insulation, trunk lining, door upholstery, etc., etc. To paint those colors as well as the visible bodywork. Weather stropping should also be removed, grill, nameplates. ;lights etc. Even things like the bumpers are painted before assembly at the factory… Even the underside is painted body color… So it is virtually impossible to do a 100% job when changing from original color = you will be lowering the value of the car.
Painting the entire car completely costs about $3000. I have a friend with a 2013 5.0 and he shopped around for painting his car from black to red. Cost him 3 grand which was the cheapest he could find.
