Get any rental car I want?
So long story short, God is good! Someone backed into me and they tried to say they didn't but it's all solved now and they're insurance company, State Farm, is taking full liability for it. My question is am I able to get any rental I want? Like a corvette for Challenger or something down that like? I'm located in Florida and I have a 2014 Ford Mustang that'll be in the shop for repairs. State Farm is contracted with Hertz Rental Center
NOPE obviously kid
U'll be limited to midsized CARs unless you PAY the difference including extra insurance.
You're limited to the daily rate your insurance covers. If you want something that costs more you have to pay the difference.
No you don't pick. They will give you the cheapest car they can rent.
Most likely you will get something midsize. It is more of a negotiated situation in that they most likely will set a limit and you can try to push it higher if you want to.
For some people it may not matter, for example… A real estate agent driving clients around they can't take a 2 door economy car.
Yes, yes you can get any rental car you want. But because there's always a catch (and there always is), there's a catch. In your case, the catch is that State Farm will only pay so much for your rental costs. You can have all the upgrades you want, but the extra costs are on you. The insurance company will pay $__.00 per day up to a maximum of $___.00, and that's all they will pay.
I left the dollar values blank because I don't know what State Farm agrees to pay per day / in total in Florida, and because I don't feel like looking it up. But I know there's a maximum, because there always is.
If you can get your but into a Vette or a 1969 Charger RT for that kind of money, State Farm will have no problem paying for it. If it costs extra to rent a Challenger or an M1 Abrams or whatever, you'll have to pay the extra yourself.
MOST insurance companies have a fixed daily limit for the cost of a rental car. I doubt you would be able to rent an exotic sports car for the kind of money your insurance company will pay.
You can only get a rental comparable to your car… Unless you want to pay the difference for a Corvette or a Challenger
It is Their insurance company, not they're insurance company
No. They will only pay something like $25 or $30 a day for a rental car. You are entitled to BASIC transportation only.
No. First, you can only get what the rental company is willing to let you have. For example, rental companies may have rules about restricting certain models to drivers with more than a certain number of years of driving experience or to drivers with good credit scores.
Second, the insurance company only pays what needs to be spent. If you get the car that is cheapest to get, then they pay that.
If you decide that you want to get a more expensive car than necessary, then YOU pay the difference in cost.
Normally, they pay only whatever it would have cost for the smallest or cheapest car that the rental company offers, and if you want a bigger or more expensive car, then you pay the difference.
In very rare cases, if you can prove that it would be illegal for you to use the cheapest available car (for example, you have more children than can fit in the back and it is illegal for them to sit in the front until they are older), then you can fight with them to try (with extreme difficulty) to get them to pay a little bit more for a vehicle just barely large enough.
State Farm will pay for a rental while your vehicle is in the shop for repairs.
You can rent any vehicle you like, (but) State Farm will have a max that they will pay, so anything over that amount, then you will owe Hertz the balance.
Does not matter what kind of vehicle you had, since (all) insurance companies owe you for basic transportation, which is to get you to work and to the grocery store while your vehicle is being fixed.
On average, most companies will pay around $25 to $30 max per day, so when you go to Hertz, they should find a vehicle for that amount, and if you want something better that costs say for instance $50 per day, then you will be paying $20 to $25 per day out of your own pocket.
- Why Ford uniform rental end up inside trunk of Crown Victoria behind the jack up tools? Why would someone put it and hide them inside my trunk? It's blue one piece clothes which only mechanics wear. Since I brought car from old man years ago, my tire got flat so I went in trunk and go behind the wall to get tools to jack car up and uniform with tiny blanket end up in there. Do they put this in every Crown Victoria when assembling in factory? You won't find it because it was hidden behind tools which you use to change the tire.
