Estimated cost for a water pump replacement?

I already bought the water pump for $60
I just need to know about how much a mechanic would charge for replacing it?

I wouldn't be surprised if they charged you $150-$200. They take advantage… What is it, like 4 bolts?

I would charge my regular hourly rate plus what my markup would be on the water pump. Do you also take a stake to a restaurant and ask how much to cook it for you?

If you have a timing chain, it should only take about an hour… I'm not positive, but I recall this being ez. $100. Bucks at private shop.

Not sure, call a few local shops, but water pumps are typically changed when you change the timing belt, is your 16 year old car due for a timing belt soon. Ask around who your local friends and family go, if anyone can recommend a "good" shop or mechanic.

  • Estimated range of miles on my car go up and down in seconds? I have a 2009 Altima 2.5 and one minute it says I have 30 miles left to drive and another second it says 14 miles left then it goes to 21 all in seconds. Can someone explain to me what's wrong with my car? I'm sure this car isn't supposed to waste that much gas, unfortunately it feels like I'm Illinois up the tank for a Ford Expidition instead.
  • Estimated cost to install cruise control? I just recently bought a 2000 Ford taurus and it does not have cruise control. I would really like to have it. I do know that I would have to get the steering wheel that has the buttons but what else do I need and how much is it going to cost me
  • Fair price for a fuel pump replacement? I had to tow my car to a shop for the first time ( i've never taken my car to a mechanic in my town before). They told me my fuel pump needed to be replaced, and that it would cost $581 parts and labor, on top of a $109 diagnostic fee. Is this a fair price? Basically I want to know if this is a good shop to continue to take my car to as I do not have a regular mechanic. My vehicle is a 2001 Ford mustang base model V6 3.8L, which unfortunately has a full tank of gas.
  • Ford ka water pump removal? I've got a 02 plate 1.3 ka and the water pump is stuffed, I'm removed the pump but can't actually get it out with the engine and the chasis been so close together, anyone know how to remove it without having to drop the engine?
