Could I use spray paint to paint my car a different color?

I currently have a red 2015 ford Mustang, but I want to paint it black and add a few designs to it. Could i pull this off with regular spray paint or is there a certain kind i must use?

I think you have to buy special paint or have it done professionally spray painting it sounds like a bad idea

You need a proper paint gun, proper compressor, proper paint booth, and proper paint.

Your bodge job will kill the value of your car.

There's a reason why a color change (done right) will run $5,000+ and take several weeks.

The equipment alone to do a halfway decent job will run you about $1,000 (if you have a clean indoor space that you can convert into a paint booth.

To do it right, you will want to disassemble the car down to the bare body (interior removed, doors, hood, trunk, engine, etc), then prep and paint.

Figure about a 50-75% loss in value of the vehicle if you pull off an OK job.

  • Why do car companies sell in different countries under different names? Why are companies like Chevrolet selling their cars under names like Holden in Australia? I'm not sure if Chevrolet sells in Australia but I do think they do. If they already sell in Australia, what's the point of selling the same thing under Holden? Another example is some Ford cars are sold under Lincoln, and Chevrolet sells the same thing under GMC. Buick and Opel? What's with this?

  • How to find exact color of my car? I bought a used Ford Crown Victoria that originally a police car about a year ago from this dealership that repainted it with a brand new color. • Do ford use the same engine blocks for different size engines? I know some car manufacturers use the same engine blocks for a 1L all the way up to 2L but obviously with different size bore holes for the pistons. Does anybody know if ford use the same engine blocks on there new fiesta, MK7 59 plates, from 1l up to a certain size. I look at my block which is a 1.4 and it looks rather big for a 1.4 engine. reason i ask is i'm thinking of putting some more power behind my car, and just want to know how much block i have, and how strong it is.
