Can you put a 5.0 truck engine in a V6 mustang?
It's a 94 ford mustang and I'm not sure what year the truck engine is. If it does work, will it be as fast as 5.0 mustang?
Sure - It will fit. As to 'fast', the Mustang engine is a bit stronger then the average pick-up truck engine, so doubtful. In addition to swapping the engines, you'll need a new transmission & rear end, a bigger radiator & some front suspension work, because the V-8 is heavier then the V-6. So, unless this specific Mustang is important to you, it would be easier & cheaper in the long run to sell the V-6 & buy a V-8.
Dude… Just sell it and buy a 5.0 mustang. Come out thousands ahead and with 100 less headaches and more free time
I could but I wouldn't. As a fairly vague question, if you have no limits on budget, time and effort, you can make any engine fit into any car. And as long as you have this theoretically unlimited budget, you are putting a great cam, manifolds, injectors and whatever is needed to make that truck motor more powerful than a normal 5.0 mustang. If you got time and money you can make it happen. If you were planning on no modifications to the truck motor, just to put it in stock and with unknown year/model/state of tune, well if you want to gamble you can go to Vegas.
Not enough info here bud. All I can say by what you've given me is maybe.
Depends if you have the money to make it work
- I have a 2000 ford Taurus station and can't put it into gear.why can't I put it into gear? I have a 2000 ford Taurus station and can't put it into gear. Why can't I put it into gear?
- I need to put a different engine in my 1982 Ford Ranger Lariat and I don't know what to put in it? It's the biggest engine you could get at the time in those trucks, so it is a v8, I just don't know the exact size. Since the engine is pretty much dead that's in it I was wondering if almost any v8 could go in it's place or if it has any specific engine that has to go it in. Also any good suggestion for a good engine would be great.
- What engine types can you get with the new mustang? Does ford still offer a 4 cylinder mustang and are all regular mustangs v6s now because I know that the gt is a v8.
- If you have enough money, can you have a new classic car built? Like can I pay to have ford build me a 1970 Mustang? Lets say I don't want to buy an old car and restore it, I want a 1970 but straight off the factory line. Can you have a car built with the old style frame, engine, trans, etc?
