Buying 06 Mustang GT opinions?

Person is selling his 2006 Ford Mustang GT V8 automatic premium 86k miles clean title, I drove it everything works fine, good condition drives good I can buy it for 8k but after reading reviews I'm hearing theirs a lot of problems with the transmission slipping or failing how could I test this or find out if the transmission is in good condition? Any help or tips would be great.

Have a mechanic inspect it. You should be doing this regardless of whether you've heard of bad reviews or whatever, it's standard best practice when buying a used car.

Not much you can do to test an automatic transmission other than drive it and make sure it is starting without revving or hard shifting or slipping.

My suggestion is to see if you can locate a mobile car inspector. They cost around $100 if you can find one. A good inspector will check everything and provide you with a written report that can be a powerful negotiating tool. I also suggest that you check with your auto insurance provider as they cost of it may influence your decision.
