Best clutch kit for 1999 ford mustang gt?

So I'm dropping my tranny because I have either a throw out bearing squeal or a pressure plate squeal. I decided i might as well throw a new clutch in. I just don't know what kind to get. Any help?

The OEM clutch is what you want to use. It will give you good service and good drivability. A competition clutch will wear your leg out in traffic and everyday driving. By the way, if it's the throwout bearing it will make a grinding noise when you first depress the clutch pedal to the point that the free travel is taken up. Pilot bearings sound off when the clutch is fully depressed and pressure plate squeel occurs as the clutch is released and the pressure plate makes contact. Make sure you also replace the pilot bearing, regardless of how it looks. You don't want to have to drop the tranny a second time in a few months. No puller needed. Just fill the pilot bearing with grease, insert a proper size socket in the opening, hit it with a hammer and the grease compression will force it out.

I've got a 91 347 Stroked GT and a 96 4.6 with a Procharger and I run either Centerforce Stage 2 or Ram.Ram is probably better for a 100% street driven car where as the Centerforce is better for street/strip car. Make sure you get the flywheel resurfaced at a machine shop unless you're replacing the flywheel too. The aluminium flywheel is a great upgrade if you like a little quicker acceleration and a engine that revs up and back down quickly. The steel flywheel takes a few seconds to rev up and back down due to the weight difference between the two.A quick rev is great.A firewall adjuster and aluminium quadrant also helps, but keep the factory cable as adjustable types will give you a heavy pedal pressure.Ford Motorsport clutches aren't all their cracked up to be. The heavy duty clutch is somewhat stiff from Motorsport

There are several levels of clutches - Each has positive things AND negative things. Other variables include if the car is a daily work car or just a week end toy, how strong is the engine & are there any plans to upgrade it. I have a twin disc in mine, but it's a toy, so the pedal pressure doesn't bother me. Decide what you want in a clutch, then call one of the big parts houses & talk to a salesman… Also, pick-up a current Mustang-based mag & read the ads.

Get an OEM replacement. If you put in a competition clutch, it suddenly becomes a "left-leg body-building kit." An original type replacement will be just fine. Try to get one made in USA, not from China.

What kind to get? How may kinds are there? A clutch is a clutch. And, CJ, the car is a Ford Mustang GT. Capitalized. All brands and models and letters are capitalized. All teens are 100% incorrect in not doing this. It might be 'ford.com" but aside from the allowance as to Internet grammar, created by shall I say less than grammar wise nerds, all names are capitalized. Please edit and correct. If you wish for professional advice, go to an auto parts store, a Ford parts department or an auto repair service shop for information and or advise. OH, when you ask as things you are not sure about, you need to include the parts. Any model Mustang GT came with an acceptable clutch. What is wrong with that?
