Motorcraft 2150 carburetor bogging?
I have a 1975 ford, when i start the car it idles real rough for about 30 seconds, when driving it cold it will run good for about 3 minutes then stall, once i get it wormed up a little bit it runs great. I just had the carb cleaned. What could be the issue
Vacuum leak. My guess… What car, engine… Ford stuck this carb on everything it seemed.
which choke does it have… Exhaust heated, exhaust heated w/electric, or electric… Is it working properly
which throttle positioner… Dashpot, vacuum kicker, dashpot w/solenoid, or vacuum kicker w/solenoid
running rough cold could be too lean due to vacuum leak… Don't forget the vacuum advance on the distributor these were commonly over looked leaks, if your advance is controlled by the thermal control on the thermostat housing and as it warms and opens port to the advance that may be the three minute stall…
when does the bogging occur…
did any of these things start after the "carb clean"…
Hi I'm kind of with Joser on maybe you need to richen up the mixture a little. Turn the fuel mixture screws in the base of the carb out 1/4 turn and see if that helps (a little goes a long way with those screws). Do you know how to set the fuel mixture screws? Even after a rebuild they well need adjusted to the motors needs.
Motor to operating temp
turn screws evenly in/out to smoothest idle (rpm well pick up) readjust curb idle speed.
readjust mixture screws again to best idle you may need to do this a couple of times to get it right.

- Vacuum leak between carburetor and intake manifold? I have a 1966 ford f100 with a 390. After taking off the carb to clean it, I noticed a rough idle and fuel leaking from between the carburetor and intake manifold. So I replaced the gasket with a gasket specifically for Holley carburetors, but that didn't stop the leak. Any ideas? Would there be any reason the manifold or bottom of the carb would need to be resurfaced? Is sealant ever used?
- Why won't the gas in my fuel tank go in the carburetor? 1984 Ford F-150 302 5.0 Automatic? I have put a new fuel tank, new starter, new battery, new fuel lines, the fuse is good for the fuel tank. I have at least a 1/4 of a tank in the fuel tank, i can only get it to run if i put gas directly into the carb, it won't flow from the furl tank to the carb. What should i do? Please Help. * i meant new fuel pump, not tank.
- How to fix surging bogging problem 2005 ford f350 v10 after replacing tps? So I had a code come up to replace tps so I did. now truck will bog and sometimes dies when taking off and coming to a stop. have moved the sensor up and down. Some positions makes the gas pedal not work. With it in the correct spot truck idles around 500 rpms. I don't get what the problem is. Doesn't make any sense. could it be that it's not a motorcraft part? are these v10 picky with aftermarket parts? any suggestions thanks
- Carburetor identification problems? I have a ford f 250 that I need to rebuild the carburetor for. It's from an '85 and a single barrel. There was no tag but on the front is the number 6-2228, on the side is a big 4 with 02395 under it. 70605 stamped under it. It was manufactured by carter for motorcraft. There were a few other numbers stamped on smaller parts but I don't know if they are relevant. Is it possible to use these to identify what it is through this or am I skrewed?
