Wy my car stereo keeps resetting when I power off my car?

I own a 2001 luxury ford ka. I've got a new sony xplode and it resets itself and i don't know why i think it's a wireing problem memory wire problem… Can anyone explain me how i can fix it? Or a site where it explains how to fix it?

It is wiring. There's a 12v one that is always on to save settings and the time, or whatever. And there's a 12v one that is only on when the key is set to accessories or turned on. The 12v positive that is always hot is very likely not connected properly.

It is usually easier to get the wiring harness adapter when installing after-market stereos. BestBuy is really good about stocking all of the ones requires. Sometimes Wal-mart has them too.

Obviously the wire that provides constant 12 v to the stereo so that it can retain its memory is not hooked up correctly to the stereo.

You need to run a always hot 12 v power source to keep its memory.

Check the remote wiring is connected. The color is blue
