What is the loading capacity on ford ka?

I can't find it anywhere on my car. But i'm worried cause i'm goin on a 2 hour journey with 3 people (4 including me, and the people are not exactly skinny) plus all the holiday luggage that we can fit in my small car. I'm worried that my car won't even make it as there will be so much weight

The Ford Ka, has a Gross Vehicle Weight of 1,350 kg and a kerb weight of 962 kg, so it has a passenger/luggage capacity of 388 kg. Unless your passengers are 90kg each and you're taking anvils and bowling balls on holiday - you' ll be fine.

It will affect the handling a little so you need to steer more smoothly and avoid harsh braking or accelerating. Remember to go much slower than usual over speed bumps and kerbs, so you don't bottom the car. You'll need to use a lower gear for climbing hills and overtaking - so you'll end up using more fuel than usual. Obviously you'll need to keep your speed down as well (eg. 50 on trunk roads, 60 on motorways and dual carriageways).

You will also need to check the tyre pressure and inflate then to the "heavy load" pressure for your car - this will be in the car's manual and on a metal plate inside the drivers door.

You'll also need to adjust the headlight deflection so they don't dazzle oncoming drivers - there should be a small dial or knob near the steering wheel.

If possible, have the heaviest passenger in the front seat, and distribute the luggage so the heaviest items are in the centre of the boot, rather than over a single wheel. If there's space on the back seat, consider putting the heqviest suitcase in the centre of the seat - secured by the seat-belt, this will all help to improve the handling.

Before you set off, get all the passengers and luggage in the car and walk round the car. Check how high the car is riding and that there's plenty of clearance between the tyres and wheel arches; and the exhaust and the ground. If they look too low, you may want to put one or two of your friends on the bus or train - it will be cheaper than having to replace the shock absorbers and exhaust, not to mention fines and court costs if you're caught driving an overloaded vehicle.
