Hi, this is probably an obvious thing to most people but it is my first car so haven't got a clue. I have checked my ford ka's oil level against min / max on dipstick. It is below the minimum. I have brought some oil, do i literally just take the cap off with the oil sign on and pour the oil in?
I have a 2001 1.3 manual ford ka petrol. I was driving around and after ten minuets I noticed the car was sticking occasionally when changing gear and every now and then would go to stall when stopping/pulling away. Told my dad, he put it down to me having a light foot. However he took it out and it did the same thing. One we got home we noticed a sizeable puddle of red oil on the floor, which when taken to the garage found out it was power steering fluid. I asked them to check the clutch as well and they said everything checks out fine. My question really is can no/low levels of power steering fluid cause the stalling symptoms?
I have a manual 2001 ford Ka petrol, only today i noticed that when stopping/ pulling away the car started to judder and seem as if it was going to stall. I also noticed that it was very difficult to put into gear. When i parked it at home i noticed that there was a sizable puddle of reddish oil like liquid on the floor. Any idea where its coming from? And how to fix it?

Whilst removing the old housing, the bolt on the top left of the housing (in accordance with the photo) snapped. It's stuck in the engine.
I was wondering what impact it would have if I did not remove and replace the broken bolt.
i.e. Left that part of the housing unsecured when replacing it with the new one.

My car recently broke down due to my heater matrix being destroyed, long story short my mechanic friend said I had 3 options. 1. Getting a whole new heater matrix which is quite costly for a student on a low wage. 2. Inserting a tube the same diameter of the inside of the heater matrix and bonding it using specific radiator glue from halfords. 3. Bypassing the heater matrix, which means my heater won't work.
The car was quite costly in itself to say its 11 years old, and apparently there's a fair few things that need to be fixed before my MOT is due in July. A LOT of people have said it's not worth it but the car is like my baby. I was told to part exchange but I don't know whether I'm able to do that if I've bypassed the system? I'm also an 18 year old student, and although I work I'm not guaranteed a specific number of hours so I'm not sure how the finance side would work? Any advice or replies would be much appreciated!
Basically I bought my ford KA a few months ago back in March time.it's around 11 years old and it cost me just over £1400. Recently I bought new tyres and my friend did a relatively short health check on it as it's due for MOT at the end of July. He told me I'd need a new lower arm, and a new power steering grid thingy as mines cracked? He also said that I'd need my gearbox fixing as it's leaking and new whiper blades(which isn't all too expensive) I've already had my rear lights fixed and as I said previously I bought new tyres. As he's my friend he said he'd be able to give me a relatively good deal on fixing the rest however it still would cost me a fair amount but I thought I could handle it.
However, yesterday my bonnet started smoking and a warning light came on out of the blue everything was fine up until that point. After a few hours of me being distraught and crying I managed to get the car home. My friend looked at it and my heater matrix is destroyed? & apparently it's a large job and quite costly. I'm a student currently on a poorly payed job, having a gap year and hoping to work full time. I feel as though I'm spending money I don't have on a car that people keep telling me isn't worth it. But it's like my baby & it's so difficult to even comprehend getting rid of.
I just want some type of advice, being an 18 year old female who knows nothing about cars is really and truly difficult. I don't know what's best? Any advice would be much appreciated
Even though I haven't turned 17 (not for another year). But I want to roughly workout how much insurance, MOT, road tax etc so I can start to save up for it. I don't want to depend upon my Mum because I personally don't think it's right to constantly depend up on your parents. Is there any tips how to make insurance cheaper?

No normal one tho I'm looking to get one that's a twin so one either side of the car so you got one on the left and one on the right so it's split into two exhausts
