How much roughly is it for a new release bearing on a car?

I have a 2008 ford ka
Everytime I press on the clutch there's a rattling noise
I have googled its the release bearing

How much roughly would this cost?

Also why did this happen?

I'm in the UK

First, take it to a garage and don't assume anything till it's been properly checked out.

If it is the release bearing it's often (but not always) caused by the driver resting their foot on the clutch pedal while driving.
You don't just replace that, the whole clutch gets done at once. Cost maybe about £250-£400 depending where you go, get quotes.

Bearing is about,50-75 dollars
if needed, put is a new clutch system also, around 200.00 with the new bearing
this is parts only, labor will depend on the time the book says your car takes and the shop rate

Call the dealer and ask them!

  • Won't car companies release old-style vehicles? Old-fashioned vehicles but with modern internals? Like the Chevrolet in Pulp Fiction or 1966 Ford Thunderbird and such. They're so beautiful
  • New wheel bearing and still noise? I have a 1997 2wd 2.3 liter Ford Ranger and the front passenger side wheel was making loud noise and the wheel was pulling that way and I replaced the wheel bearing and a couple days later the same side is making that noise again and and pulling that way again. It has 4 brand new tires on it and the wheels aligned.
  • How easy is it to fix a spun bearing? Car on Craigslist has this description "I've got a 1990 ford thunderbird supercoupe 3.8 supercharged 5 speed rare car needs motor work spun bearing." I'm looking into getting a project car and am considering this. How easy and expensive would this repair be? Compared to doing it myself and having a shop do it
  • One shop tells me hose is kinked, another says bad wheel bearing, what is going on? Someone mentioned we should replace the wheel because it was warped, we replaced the wheel. We then had the same issue and shop mentioned we need to replace wheel bearing. We shopped around and went to another shop that said wheel bearing is fine, but the brake hose is kinked. They state that the kinked brake hose is causing the wobble sound… 2007 Ford Fusion SE
