Ford KA Sublime, Electrical problems?
I had the bonnet up checking the oil n water. Could just b a coincidence but when that was done n I drove it for the first time the car started to judder in low gear, but as the speed got up it would stop. Then, as well as that, if I had to change into a low gear I noticed the petrol, mph n rev gadges would drop n the radio would cut out, then everything would return to normal when gaining speed. Then my headlights and full beam blew. I got the bulbs replaced but they went again later that day. The battery light has come on a few times but gone out a minute later; Halfords checked the battery n it's ok. I've had no problems starting it. I know everyone is thinking Alternator, but when I bought the car a few weeks ago I was told that the fan belt needed to be replaced. Could it be that or could I have accidentally loosened a wire or connection when I had the bonnet up? Everyone I've asked have been stumped and I was told that this engine doesn't have a fan belt. Please help. I'm skint n so scared to take it to a garage where I'll get ripped off as I'm female.
Get it checked out.
See a mechanic. It looks like you can't troubleshoot and fix the car yourself. You never mentioned anything about what you have done.

Hi so where do you get these silly ideas that a car dealer is going to rip you off. It is a fact that no appointed Ford dealer would do such things as they would be struck off the authorised dealer list should they try such practices. Having owned now some 6 ford cars over a 18 years period each one has some issues. Not the dealer was to blame poor ford design in most cases. So if it has a fault the dealer will find it and fix it.
- Shifting problems and intake problems? I drive a 1997 ford ranger with a 2.3l automatic. I have recently experienced a hard shifting in my truck even when I'm not on the gas it has problems shifting. And I cleaned my air filter and filter hose that goes to my throttle body and there was transmission fluid in the hose. What can be causing this and how can I fix it or how much will it cost roughly?
- 95 Ford Ranger Electrical Problem Every so often, sometimes months apart, only when driving the complete electrical system shuts off for a fraction of a second then it turn back on. We have checked everything we know of. Any ideas of what may be causing this?
- 2006 1.8 Ford Focus engine and electrical issue? My mum has a 2006 Ford Focus 1.8. Suddenly over the last few days, the engine won't start and nothing electrical works, not even the central locking. Would it be the alternator or something else? We have had problems with the car before when suddenly the dials on the dashboard would stop working temporarily while driving which could be related to it as well.
- Horse trailer electrical to my truck I have a 2010 Ford Explorer and I'm getting ready to purchase a 1980 Imperial 2 horse trailer. My truck and the other owner s truck have a 7 prong connector and I need to know if there's wiring that connects from my truck straight to the trailer or if it just connects right to it without wiring. I have not seen the trailer in person or tried it out as it is too far away to make more than one trip.
