Can I part exchange my Ford KA if I've bypassed the heater matrix?

My car recently broke down due to my heater matrix being destroyed, long story short my mechanic friend said I had 3 options. 1. Getting a whole new heater matrix which is quite costly for a student on a low wage. 2. Inserting a tube the same diameter of the inside of the heater matrix and bonding it using specific radiator glue from halfords. 3. Bypassing the heater matrix, which means my heater won't work.

The car was quite costly in itself to say its 11 years old, and apparently there's a fair few things that need to be fixed before my MOT is due in July. A LOT of people have said it's not worth it but the car is like my baby. I was told to part exchange but I don't know whether I'm able to do that if I've bypassed the system? I'm also an 18 year old student, and although I work I'm not guaranteed a specific number of hours so I'm not sure how the finance side would work? Any advice or replies would be much appreciated!

Its buyer beware so there's no reason for you to mention it. If they don't notice that's not your problem.

There's nothing to stop you bypassing the heater as a temporary measure. You won't need it until, say, mid autumn. You can then use it and also pop into one or two dealerships to see what they will allow in part exchange. They will adjust their offer accordingly, but believe me they will want it to sell you a new car. They can put a new matrix in for peanuts and sell it on.

You can but you'd probably get as much scrap value as part exchange, no garage would do a car for car swap at that price range

Hi so why not sell it privately to another student and let them try fixing it some do manage it if they take the dashboard apart.
