Is the old Holden v Ford rivalry now a thing of the past?
Is the old Holden v Ford rivalry now a thing of the past?
That depends upon the context you're referring to.
GM (Holden) and Ford are direct competitors and have fought each other for market share since GM was founded five years after Ford in 1908.
The two companies remain as bitter rivals to this day.
Most customers just regard their product ranges as being two sides of the same coin, but both also have their dedicated Fanboys/Fangirls who claim they'd never drive anything else.
But there are irrational tribal rivalries everywhere, such as Coke/Pepsi, McDonalds/Burger King, Adidas/Nike, Android/iPhone, Mac/PC, Toyota/Honda, BMW/Mercedes and so on.
But many customers don't care about any of that and just choose whatever suits them best when they're ready to buy.
There will be collectors and enthusiasts, but globalist socialism is killing nationalism and national pride, which really was the basis of that rivalry.
It was cool, even from North America, to watch the rivalry of unique models that weren't available worldwide. Sad to see it end.
- Now the thing everybody knew since the beginning has been proven (Christine Ford is a liar) should we believe any woman from here on? Hmm… You know what, i see most women as a potential false accuser now. Gotta sleep with one eye open, gentlemen.
- How old is too old for a truck? I'm looking to buy a box truck and found a 1990 Ford E 350 with 78000 miles on it. Does it matter that it is 27 years old? The owner said I need to replace the oil and tires. What else will need to be replaced? The asking price is $2750
- Despite the past, is Rob Ford capable of being a good mayor? I don't know much about the politics of Toronto, but just cause he did drugs doesn't mean he's bad. I know that it's not a good thing to do for a mayor (and it will never be forgotten, too), but before the drug incident, was he a good mayor?
