Is the mechanic right or is he wrong?
Had to put a engine in my ford another 4.6 I had to change the throttle body all 4 O2 sensors MAF sensor EGR valve and the injectors. I think my catalytic converters are clogged cause I lost all power driving it and my valves rattle too could that be it or is the mechanic right on me needing a engine due to the " so called EGR valve" being stuck open and burning my cylinders up? Need to know!
Ask a different mechanic about your car before you commit any dollars any which way. EGR valve being open would give you less power. Hey it is your money. It is your decision to actually have someone else evaluate it. My friend gets 5 quotes before doing anything on anything.
You need to type in: function: EGR valve You will find that a CLOSED EGR valve OVERHEATS ENGINE PARTS.
Have you ever asked yourself WHY Ford discontinued the 4.6?
- My mechanic put 5w30 oil in my ford ranger instead of 5w20. What could go wrong? Took my 2007 2.3L ford ranger in for an oil change, and they put 5W30 oil in it instead of the 5W20 that is shown in the book. Will this cause any problems, should i call them and have it changed/?
- What's wrong with my Ford Focus? It turns off at every stop! A mechanic checked his comp and said no errors It just turns off. A friend changed my burnt sparkler cables, my spark plugs, my fuel filter and other stuff, but he can't seem to find what's wrong with it. Is there something else wrong with it? When a mechanic hooked it up to a comp to check to see what's wrong with it, nothing came up since the check engine light isn't on. What's up with the car? It's a 2000 Ford Focus SE.
- Slow mechanic, over a week just to fix the windows switch and wipers on my car? Well we gave him free curry in exchange to fix my car for free, but it's been a one week now, the windows don't go up and down, and wipers don't work, it's a ford focus 2004 3door 1.6, does it really take that long to do those two things? I dunno am not a mechanic? My car is still not ready after one week
- How to know if the mechanic is telling me the truth? My 2002 ford f150's breaks went out. Mechanic says I have to replace both rear rotors, pads and the break cable assembly. According to him the break cables can't be purchases at an auto store only dealership so just for that is 600.00. Total he wants to charge is 1300.00. Thats as much as my mortgage pmt. Can anyone tell me if that is resonable.
