Is Jaguar X Type just a Ford Mondeo?

Why do people offend Jaguar X Type owners by saying it is just a Ford Mondeo. I know that it shares a Ford Mondeo Second generation platform and both Jaguar and ford sourced engines in petrol models but diesels have got same as a Ford Mondeo diesel. Even the Jaguar XJ(X350 & X358) and S Types got the same V6 engines as the Jaguar X type but they got the choice of V8 engines which X type hasn't got. The S Type also has a Ford platform.

Even the Land rover Freelander 2 has a third generation Ford Mondeo platform and pure ford engine. The Range Rover Evoque has the same engine as the Freelander 2 but a different platform.
So why are these vehicles not offended as the Jaguar X Type which is good value luxury car?

Have used both 2002 and 2007 Jaguar X types.
2002 is really unreliable but the 2007 is the opposite in my experience.

Well it's true that the chassis on the X-Type is from a Mondeo, but these ppl who say that are wrong. A lot of things on the X-Type, including electronics and buttons and leather etc. Are way more high-class than the Mondeo's. You can see a huge difference in handling when driving them too. The Jag is more sporty and feels a bit older (in a good way) whilst the Ford is more steady and family-like.
