Is a GMC Sierra a solid truck?

I'm in the market for a full sized pickup truck and would just like to know what is a solid truck? I'm partial to a dodge or a GMC (not chevy for some reason) i wouldn't be against a ford or chevy though I'm just looking for a reliable truck that I can work and play in. Please help. And I don't want the Fords suck or Dodge is best answers so please leave it proffesional people

In modern times it almost doesn't matter. GMC could be a truck you give to your kids or it could explode in a week same goes for any other brand. I'm a chevy guy and the only thing I don't like is the stock tire size usually you can fit 33" under a stock ford or dodge but GM 31". By the way Chevy makes GMC…

The chevy/gmc's are what i'm sold on. I know alot of people that have seirra/silverado's with 200-300k on them and they are still running strong. I hate fords my dad had a f-250 tht he had to put 3 motors in and a transmission. And I don't like dodges because i have heard they have alot of computer glitches etc. The only thing i hate about the chevy and gmc trucks is that on the older trucks the rocker panels tend to rust out. But other than that they are a great truck.
