Ipod won't play through aux in car stereo - what can I do?
I want to play my ipod through my car stereo using an aux 3.5mm cable. The car has an aux port in the glove box - it's a 2008 Ford Mondeo Zetec 1.8l TDI - with the bog standard factory stereo
6000 CD. It does not have a usb port.
I bought the cable and hooked it up - and hit the aux button - that's all there's to it… Right?
But no sound is coming through, in fact nothing at all happens - does not register in any way.
What can I do now? Is there anything I'm missing here?
You need to install the aux audio input interface

or the iPod adapter, if you want to control fromt he radio, and you will also see the iPod text
- How can I play my own music in my car from my phone? My car is an 05 ford taurus and it doesn't have a cassette tape player so i can't use a cassette tape adapter. It also doesn't have an aux outlet or bluetooth. Just a CD player and AM/FM radio
- How can I play music in my car from my iPhone without an aux port? I have a Ford Ka Zetec 2011 and it only has a USB port and no AUX. I know I can plug my iPod in and it will play random music, as the screen shows as connected so can't choose music, but I wanted to know if anyone knows a solution so that I can play it whist being able to see the screen and chose songs or connect my iPhone to play music?
- How to play my ipod music a 1991 truck? I have an old truck and an iPod touch. The truck doesn't have a USB plugin, it just has an am/fm radio. Is there a way I could play music from my iPod in my 1991 ford truck?
- How to play music from my phone through the car stereo in a 2005 ford freestyle? The car has the factory radio which comes without an aux port. I would rather not have to use an FM adaptor. If there's a means by which I can install an auxiliary system of sorts could someone give me a link as well?
