I really hope people aren't stupid enough to elect Doug Ford. Tax cuts are for chumps?

Tax cuts are good but they don't contribute to the economy because peoples tax dollars go into social services that help people. Honestly I would rather work and have a living wage but seeing though no party offers that. I would rather the wage increase and tie it to inflation. When you have more money to spend, you give more money to the economy increasing production, in return creating more jobs. This is something most conservatives don't get because they think Tax cut means they less money to spend but it's utterly bull **** because you still have to pay taxes with out any benefits, on top of that the cost of living is always going up. Giving tax cuts would utterly be pointless because you still have to pay taxes but with out the benefit of spending more to boost the econemy and helping social programs. Most conservatives who I try and debate over this can't give a articulated response with facts to back it up. Its seriously aggravating.

People who don't pay a lot of taxes because they don't make a lot of money do not like tax cuts. Many of them do not plan on putting forth the effort to ever do what it takes to make more money.

Raise increases used to be tied to increased skill, ability and productivity.

It's all about one's POV on such matters. The motivated and self reliant, vs. The dependent and entitled.

At the risk of dabbling in someone else's politics I will suggest that Ford's biggest advantage is that he is running against one of the most inept governments in Ontario's history, and that is saying a bundle. Privatizing the province's most used highway, for example, is stupidity taken to the nth degree. Add to that the total irrelevance of the modern New Democrats and things look pretty good for Ford's chances.

Speaking of inability to give an articulated response, yours was barely literate.

If you want to buy a metric tonne of wheat or Iron ore or Aluminum or anything else, would you go to the government to obtain such things? No. Because the government does not produce anything. They are all just a bunch of paper pushers and desk jockeys. So why for the life of me would you want to syphon more and more money away from those who actually produce things, and give it to the paper pushers? Taxation is a burden. Taxation suppresses economic growth and prosperity.
Or maybe you are a socialist who wants to forcibly redistribute wealth using the power of the government to do so. Socialism is for losers who need the government to take care of them.

Ford is more of a lowlife than his dead brother, and just as dumb if not dumber (I'm not a huge fan of Kathleen Wynne but I'll take her over Ford every day of the year). Cutting taxes has never helped grow an economy. It doesn't work. Infrastructure, healthcare, etc. Cost money. Traffic/transit is problematic in Toronto already; his cuts would make it worse. If was really a conservative, he would take on the monopolies the province has on beer and alcohol sales (I love the Beer Store but I'm not sure the province needs to be in the business of selling beer, wine and liquor). Housing is still a MAJOR problem in the GTA, and Ford doesn't have anything to address this issue. The economy is doing well. The province still needs transit/infrastructure funds. The provincial minimum wage should be tied to cost of living growth. People should be able to earn a living wage. Period. I'm lucky that I do very well, but other people should also do well.

Yes, you are right, and the majority of us all do agree with you. The main point of issue for it is for the Supreme Court to do something, anything, about it, where they are ONLY of the mind that paying 5000 times the cost of a thing is prudent, realistic, and an accurate way of doing business, where it just is not.
