Most times you have to remove the tank and take it to a propane supplier for filling. They may be able to fill it in place if it has a percent gauge on the tank but them you'd need to take the RV to them.
Many motor-homes have the propane tank bolted to the frame and have fittings to let clerks at gas bars to hook up the hose at the propane stand and fill the tank on your RV.
