I'm 17, I have a chance of getting a scholarship for Formula Ford, and I want to eventually reach Formula 1. Do I have a chance?

It's been a life long dream for me. I've been Arrive and Drive Karting ever since I was 8Y/O (9 years of experience) however I have not been able to enter a championship due to my parents seeing it as "a waste of money."

The scholarship itself is based on project cars, on a track that I'm 18th fastest in the world on, so I believe I have a solid chance of getting this scholarship.

Question is, will this scholarship get me to my dreams if I win the championship? Maybe an entrance into a young driver academy?

Most F1 drivers have won karting championships and are in F3 or something similar by the time they are 17. I'm guessing you aren't living in Europe, either. Can't get into F1 if you don't live in Europe. There are plenty of other racing series you can get into, though. You never know what can happen if you don't try.
