I have a bmw v12 engine not sure what to do with it?

My bother is in to building European style racing and cars especially BMW's i know very little about BMW's. I'm big in to classic American muscle and nascar and drag racing. He gave me a V12 bmw engine i think said its a 5.8l or a 5.5l any ways i might trade it off for a 427 FE ford big block should i do this or keep this motor and try a learn about how to hop it up. Please please no smart remarks. I'm also working on a 49 ford Convertible that I'm working on my barn I have not decided on the power train yet I was thinking a new 5.0l coyote crate engine or a bigblock but this v12 has me thinking

Added (1). if I go with v12 do they transmission adaptors to bolt a th400 or a c6 to it

You would have to make your own adapter or use a BMW transmission. Aluminum plate should work for an adapter.

  • Not sure which truck to get? I have to get a truck this winter but at the same time hoping I can save on gas a little. So i'm looking at a 96 ford ranger, 90 f 150, and an 01 ram 1500. I'm prioritizing the ranger because according to the internet it gets 20-26 mpg. Where as i know the ram and f150 would get terrible gas mileage. Do rangers actually get significantly better mileage or is it negligible? And which truck would you pick for reliability?
  • My 2000 Ford Ranger 6 Cyl 3.0 L has been overheating. Pretty sure its a radiator problem but odd symptoms? Truck exhaust will puff moderate amount of white smoke (every now n again) on cold startup but will subside after engine warming up.Truck "Was" overheating until i put more coolant in but realised cap was steaming along with coolant reservoir (reservoir was also bubbling). So i bought a new radiator cap. I got a safety cap and after installing I drove a little and engine temp goes to red really fast. What could it be? Thermostat? Water pump? Blown head gasket?
  • 2012 mustang gt vs 2009 bmw 335i coupe for insurance and reliability? I'm am wondering what would be cheaper on insurance but most off all what would be the most reliable please no bias, although i'm a ford fan boy you can't argue with a bmw but i hear they arnt to reliable being twin turbo v6, and also because if they arnt reliable i don't want to be stuck with expensive a## parts to buy… I'm 19 with a clean driving record
  • Media and the left are bent on believing Ford no matter what. Will she make up details to make sure her story is believable? So far her only witness has denied being there. Her details are so sketchy they are not really believable. But, Kavanaugh is being roasted anyway. This is just terrible. The point being, she could say ANYTHING at this point and the left would believe it. She can contradict herself (the number of people in the room) or she can flat out lie because we're not demanding any proof. It is really terrible what they are doing to Kavanaugh.
