I drove through a deep puddle today and the car stalled?

I thought it would dry out after a while bit a guy came to look at it and he said its knackered. There's something that needs doing with the head? Some pipes where the pistons go or something? I wouldn't know anything about engines which i suppose is obvious because i wouldn't have chanced the puddle if I'd have thought it was going to kill my car. Its a Ford Mondeo and its lower than i thought which is what has got me into this trouble in the first place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Most of the time when people do this it isn't the engine unless the water was up past the tail pipes. Usually water gets up near the electrical and shorts out or kills the motor. Many times waiting a few says to let things dry out works you can speed up the process by cleaning out all the electrical components. I would not suggest this to YOU because you are more likely to mess something up. Wait a day or so and see what happens.

Very common and most likely not going to be a problem. If you got you belt wet you might get a speaking two while running for the next hundred miles or so also don't be alarmed if that happens
