How to get more HP out of a 302 Ford?

I have a 302 Ford in my 1970 Gran Torino GT. It's linked up to a C-4 Transmission. I'm wondering what mods I could put on it to get more hp. It already has Flowmaster 44s for exhaust, and an Edelbrock 500cfm carb. I don't want turbos, but might be considering a Blower in the future. My budget is medium. What cam should I use? Different spark plugs? Etc.

You have a small block on a large heavy car ( I owned a Torino). That said… To get more horses… You need more air. Compression… And gas… So… Better intake… Maybe a mid-rise… Something that can handle a quad 750cfm… Maybe a crank… Or cam… Pumps up the compression. As of now… You have a exhaust… And not much else… Good luck. And have some fun with it…

You need torque a car that heavy. I would look into a 351W swap.

  • Can i get out of a ford lease early? Or get a new car early? After my 2004 GTO broke down, i was forced to lease a 2014 Focus, for 3 years and had to get extended miles. Its been about 5 months since i've had the car and so far i hate it. Slow, cheaply made, stereo is terrible, no traction in winter, i don't like it at all. Is there any chance of getting out of the lease early or turning it in without hurting my credit, or even turning it in to lease a different car. Possibly a truck or taurus. Has anyone else been in this situation?
  • What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
  • How to make my '67 ford 352 v8 rumble more and idle more rough? So I have flowmaster super 10's on it, I've lowered the idle to about 650-700 rpm. It just doesn't sound like I want it to. I want it I sound more drag car like. More like a race engine. Is there anything I can do?

Unfortunately I have drive home in my car. I I.installed a Sony 50w x 4 CD that fails to satisfy my appetite for rich, clear deep bass. Do these company vehicles have amps as well? I think not.
