How many hours to rebuild front suspension on a 1971 ford pinto?

I have air tools, pickle forks, spring compressor clamps (i used a floor jack on springs too) and pitman arm puller. The whole front end took, every piece, around 5-6 hours on 71 Mustang… Taking my time. Day before spray all the bolts and nuts with liquid wrench. Take pitman arm, drag link and tie rods in one piece. Check the rag joint on steering to steering gear box. That was kinda hard to replace, but it had a 351C in it.
Buy upper and lower control arms with ball joints installed. If replacing springs buy the rubber dampners.
Take pictures of the shims on upper control arm so you get camber close. Measure center to center to get tie rods in ball bark. Assemble off car.

Hi so all dependant on the competence of the mechanic, also to what degree it needs to be rebuilt. So could take 3-4 days.

There are two routes to take:
1. Labor intensive. This means drilling the rivets out, pushing bushings out and installing new ones.
2. Capital intensive. This means purchasing control arms and other parts with all the hard work done.
Time wise going capital intensive saves at least one days work. After all after getting the things apart they still need to be blasted and repainted- so maybe two days work. Some one who knows what they are doing can do the job in a work day or less.
If the labor intensive way is used figure the first day for disassembly and clean up. The second day on painting. The third day and maybe the fourth on reassembly.
Here is something to consider- a suspension up-grade! This uses many of the same parts hot rodders call "Mustang II" suspension. As a result there are parts options out there including brake up-grades. I'm pretty sure these will bolt right in but are not listed as being for a 71 model because of minor up-grades. Such as disk brakes instead of drum brakes up front. Of course if you are restoring the Pinto such items are not desired.
