How do the Kia minivans compare to Ford and Chrysler minivans in terms of build quality and reliability? - 1

I haven't heard anything about the reliability of the Ford Transit Connect but it has to be better than the old Ford Windstar/Freestar minivan which suffered from many issues. Chrysler has had many reliability issues with their minivans so I would stay away from them. In general, I don't like minivans because they always have more issues than a regular car or SUV. They are hard to work on due to space constraints and mechanics often charge more to work on them. I loved to drive my Ford Windstar but there was always something failing on it (oxygen sensors, door switches, A/C vacuum switch, camshaft synchronizer, vehicle speed sensor, window motors, intake manifold runner controls. ABS tone ring, etc. Etc. My advice is that you buy a Kia or Hyundai SUV instead. We got rid of our troublesome minivan and bought the Santa Fe. It has been very reliable compared to the minivan. If you think you really need a minivan, you should probably buy a Toyota minivan rather than a Kia minivan.

Only time will tell. Initially Kia was an entry-level vehicle with not such a good reliability and build quality. Ford and Chrysler vehicles aren't doing so well either, but Ford has nosed ahead after almost going bankrupt and going out of business a few years ago. Chrysler would be history except for the bailout they got. Their vehicle quality has not come up to snuff recently since they've allied with Fiat for a financial "transfusion". They are pretty stylish, but it takes more than a pretty face to hold a relationship and keep it viable. Kia sticks a lot of amenities and gee-whiz stuff in their cars to make you want them, but when the panties come off, there may not be enough to make it a good choice.
