2003 Ford Windstar A/C blower is stuck on defrost?

A family friend changed my spark plugs in my 2003 Ford Windstar its a 6 cylinder and since he did that my a/c blower is stuck on defrost. I've googled video fixes on you tube but can't find anything useful. I'm thinking he may have disconnected something when he replaced the 3 plugs in the back part of the engine. Please if someone has a manual (can't find mine) or a link that will show me exactly where to look and possibly fix the problem. Live in Louisiana and its record heat here now so please any input would be appreciated.

He very well may have disconnected a vacuum tube that controls this. Could also be a ground left disconnected. Get a flashlight and search around for something off. The manual would never help you here.

Sounds like the blend disconnected.

Check vacuum lines for breaks, disconnects or loose connections.

They all go to defrost when the controls don't work. The controls are vacuum powered. Figure it out.

The HVAC system uses engine vacuum operated controls/servos to control airflow to the various vents so it's likely that your friend accidentally disconnected one of the vacuum lines under the hood. Probably back by the firewall where the lines go from the engine to inside the car. The system defaults to blow air from the defroster vents when vacuum is lost.

You may need to remove the cowl trim panel at the base of the windshield to get at the lines but check those lines and see if any are disconnected or broken/loose, etc. There's also a check valve in the main line that keeps the vacuum levels from dropping during some periods of engine operation which can go bad overtime… Check that too if the lines are good or a faulty line to the reserve tank or engine /manifold.
