What are my options for unlocking a Ford Fusion 2016 with no key to unlock the door and a dead battery?

If I could find a way to open my hood to charge the battery, that would be wonderful, but I can't.

Dealer? Locksmith?

Why don't you have a key?

Read the manual. There's a hidden key slot in the handle.

Make nice with the service dept at a Ford dealership… All cars have emergency procedures for such situations, whether it's a way to pull the hood release, a place to power-up the electrics, etc. Probably not in the Owners Manual, but in the big Shop Manual (and that might be accessible online).

Locksmith

Try asking the owner.

Can you get UNDER the car?

Connect the positive clip of a portable battery charger to the (+) battery cable at the starter (usually red in color) and the negative clip to the engine block or something bolted to the engine.

Most people don't think to go under the car, but that's the only way with a dead car battery and a key fob.

Of course you need to know where the starter is. You may have to jack up the front of the car, because many modern cars are very low to the ground. Be safe. Use a jackstand.

Experienced car repair people know how to do things like this. I've been doing it for 3 decades. Armchair mechanics never think of it, because they are inexperienced.
