I have a Ford Fusion 2008V
V6. The AC-Heating blower motor is making a cricket sound. It works fine but once in blue it makes that sound. My question is. Do I need to replace it or can I just leave it like that?

I wouldn't replace anything yet I'd pull the motor out and see what is hitting the blower wheel.

Just leave it like that until it stops working and then replace it.

Hi so how long is it supposed to work for it has passed it's designed date of 8 years.

I had a Buick like that. The bearing on the fan is wearing out. It will get worse and you will have to replace the fan.

Lots of crickets take up residence in the dash of vehicles-pay no attention

I had a car do that and it turned out to be a leaf that somehow got down in there and the blades were hitting it when turning. Electrical tape on wiring can do the same thing.

Bruh

Just turn up the stereo. The blower motor needs lubrication but is in such a nasty place(behind the stereo) so to even see it means tearing apart the dashboard)just to put a drop of WD40 on it.
Maybe some days "like rainy days" it does not have crickets. But it is heading to the wear out zone. You will notice that in the winter because the same fan blower motor supplies heating. Nasty come January at - 40F… Like I can live without AC, for at this point the fan no longer blows at all. So it is something to start thinking about when you are awash with money.

  • What would cause heat/ac blower motor on car to stop? Every so often the heat/ac motor on my car stops. I remove it (which is fairly easy) and put it back on. Then it works fine. I have checked the connections and fuses. They seem fine. The switch works too. Could it be a faulty motor? A new one costs $25-$50. Any ideas? 2002 Ford CV, V8, with climate control.
  • Were is the blower motor resistor located on a 96 ford windstar? I found the blower motor behind the glove box but can't find the resistor anywere around the blower.
  • Car is making squeaky sound on passenger side? I own a 2000 Ford Focus. I noticed this squeaky sound only arises in cold conditions and non existent in warm/hot climate, it seems the sound is coming from the bearing on the passenger side. Can't really pinpoint what exactly though.
  • My car is making a constant dinging sound when off? My 2002 Ford Explorer just started today making a dinging sound when the key is out and the car is off. The sound like when you turn the car off and the headlights are still on. It's stops for a few seconds or minutes but then starts right again.
