Humming Noise coming from under the hood. Any ideas?
I have a 2008 Ford Fusion SE 4 Cylinder with 78,000 miles on it. When I accelerate I hear a humming noise coming from the front. The higher the RPM's the louder it gets. The sound begins after 1000 RPM's. I sat it and parked it and put my foot on the gas pedal and went up to 4,000 RPMS and it sounded like a siren you would hear in the movies for like code red or something I don't know. I have no idea what it may be. Answers would be very much appropriated.
Could be anything from a vibrating heat shield to a bad bearing on an accessory. If you listen through a rubber hose and aim it all around, you should be able to locate the noise source as the hose points at it.
Sounds like a belt, but it could be other things. I'd check those first. Everything else is going to be much more expensive.
Someone has to look under the hood while you run the engine and make the sound.
Check your belts and make sure everything moves freely and that nothing is leaking any type of fluid.
- Weird noise coming from bottom of my car? Ok so i own a 2002 Ford Mustang GT, and there has been this weird, weird rattling noise coming from beneath my car. I'm running an SLP loudmouth aftermarket exhaust and i'm wondering if thats the issue. I'm no mechanic, so i wanna know what i'm gonna be dealing with before i go see for myself. - Hissing coming from under my ford 2e250? Hissing sound coming from my ford e250? There's a disconnected hose right under the passenger side, underneath. It has 3 holes and stops when I out my finder over then. What could it be?
- Squeaking coming from under my Focus Hello everyone I have a 2005 Ford Focus st (for details) and every time I move my (manual) gear stick to the left to shift into first, I hear a slight squeak coming from what sounds like the underneath of the car. So should I be concerned? Where should I grease?
- Check engine light on now car is jerking and having rattling noise under the hood? I have a 03 ford explorer eddie Bauer it has 105k miles on it. Recently it started to rattle under the hood and jerks. What could be wrong?
